Kishtwar : To sensitize people about the importance of health and wellbeing and to bring varied health facilities at the door steps of the public, a Mega Ayushman Bharat Health cum Awareness Mela was Tuesday organised by Department of Health & FW (Medical Block Kishtwar) at Subash Park Kishtwar here under the aegis of AzadiKaAmritMahotsav.
The mega camp was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ashok Sharma in presence of Chief Medical Officer Dr.Ravinder Singh Manhas and BMO Dr. S.L Manhas.
Among others present on the occasion were Nodal Officer AYUSH Dr.TaraqHussain, Food Safety Officer, Tariq Ahmad Butt, Medical Officer Block Kishtwar, Dr.NazirHussain, Officers from several departments, PRIs, ASHAs, Anganwadi Workers, Staff from Health Deptt and other allied departments, besides, students from different schools.
The DC along with other Officers inspected different stalls put up by health department and other allied departments including AYUSH , One Stop Centre, Common Service Centre, ICPS to aware the people about e-Sanjeevni, Ayushman Bharat, besides conducting RBSK Screening and general health check-up.
During the inspection, the Food Safety Department (DFCO) teamshared good news regarding the introduction of “Eat Right challenge” in the District.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC elaborated on varied health services, especially the Golden Card exclusively available to the residents of Jammu and Kashmir.
The Chief Medical Officer advised the young participants to concentrate on their studies to actively participate in nation building. He asked them to stay away from the drugs and support the district police in eradicating the menace from the district.
The BMO Kishtwar said that the mela was organized to educate the general public and to generate mass awareness about the various health schemes including online registration of Ayushman Bharat (Golden Cards), NCD screening and hosting Mental Health activities like yoga and meditation etc.
Later, a live yoga session by Yogi Anil Thakur was presented with detailed benefits of the regular practice and few postures done with the help of the props such as chairs and tables.
AYUSH team also provided free medical consultation/checkups, immunity booster kits in the Health mela under the supervision of Nodal Officer AYUSH.
