Mega Block Health Mela held at Doda

Medical checkups, Ayushmaan registration, awareness skits on Drug de-addiction, BBBP mark the event

Doda : The Department of Health & Family Welfare on Monday organised a Mega Block Health Mela here at Community Hall to acquaint the participants about the Healthcare schemes, prevention against diseases, besides perils of the drug addiction.
The Health Mela was hosted by Medical Block Ghat in compliance with the instructions of the Union Ministry of Health & Family Welfare.
Chairperson Block Development Council GhatSharifa Begum; SSP AbQayoom; ADDC Pran Singh; President MC, VedParkash Gupta; CMO Dr M Y Mir; District Ayush Officer, Dr Sanjay Raina; BMO Ghat Dr Saleem Ahmed; Medical Superintendent AH GMC Dr Yudhveer; ASHAs, Anganwadi Workers, Staff of Health Deptt and other allied departments, besides, students from different schools were present on the occasion. Scores of locals and people from different areas of the block Ghat attended the program.
During the daylong event, the participants were educated about the flagship health schemes and programs, including online registration for Ayushman Bharat (Golden Cards). A team of doctors also conducted screening of the general public for non-communicable Diseases (NCD), Mental Health, Tuberculosis, besides hosting activities like yoga and meditation etc.
The students of ANMT School Doda presented a variety cultural show and presented skits to spread awareness about the BetiBachaoBetiPadhao, Drug de-addiction, Tuberculosis Elimination Programme.
The departments and agencies including Health AYUSH, Animal Husbandry t, SDRF, Fire & Emergency, Mahila Shakti Kendra, One Stop Centre, ICPS, e-Sanjeevni, Ayushman Bharat, also showcased their schemes and programmes and conducted screening of children for different Diseases, Deficiencies under RBSK and general health check-up.
Speaking on the occasion the SSP Doda advised the young participants to concentrate on their studies and stay away from the drugs. He urged them to support the civil and police administration in the eradication of Drug menace.
Earlier BMO Ghat apprised the participants about the achievements of the health department in general and medical block Ghat in particular. The Chief Medical Officer presented the vote of thanks.
