Two-day tour of CEO NFDB to Ang concludes

Anantnag : The two days tour of Dr C. Suvarna, Chief Executive Officer NFDB (National Fisheries Development Board) to District Anantnag concluded Saturday.
During her two days stay, the CEO visited scores of Government/ Private Trout Fish Farming Units and Hatcheries which also included High Tech RAS Project in Private Sector at Awantipora Pulwama and Trout Fish Farming Project Kokernag.
She interacted with Private Fish Farmers and was very impressed and excited to see the progress of the Farmers.
Private Fish Farmers meet with the visiting dignitary was organized by the Department of Fisheries Anantnag at Village Trout Fish Farming Project Kokernag wherein she had a detailed interactive sessions and discussions with Private Fish Farmers, sought feedback about their progress some self-made innovations and also took note of the various problems faced by them and assured them of every possible assistance.
Dr Suvarna admitted that Fish Farming in the Private Sector is advanced beyond expectations and hoped that, with concerted efforts, it will be a bigger industry in future where it will open up new avenues of meaningful Employment for the youth. She was overwhelmed by the enthusiastic approach of the Fish Farmers.
The CEO directed Director Fisheries to send a proposal of all the genuine demands so that they can be incorporated in the scheme. She also inaugurated the seed distribution to Private Fish Farmers at Trout Fish Farming Project Kokernag. She appreciated local seed production and local distribution networks among private farmers.
The CEO was accompanied by Director Fisheries Government of J&K, Bashir Ahmad Bhat, Joint Director Fisheries North (Irshad Ahmad) , Joint Director Fisheries, Central (AbMajeedTak), Chief Project Officer Kokernag (GhMohi-ud-din Wani), and Deputy Director Fisheries Anantnag (Mohd SidiqChoh) besides other officers and officials of district Anantnag.
