Migration of Tribal population: DC B’pora reviews arrangements

B’pora|April, 16: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr.Owais Ahmad Saturday took review of arrangements to facilitate the annual migration of tribal population.
The meeting held threadbare discussions on various issues related to annual migration of tribal population and the required interventions of Civil, Police and Army authorities for hassle free movement.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that the District Administration Bandipora has already released a survey report providing a reliable database of Migratory Tribal population which will help to identify problems faced by the Tribals during migration period and the necessary interventions of the concerned departments.
The DC asked the concerned SHOs of Bandipora, Aragam, Pethkoot and Sumbal to register the tribal population passing through their police station. He urged them to register all the details related to the number of persons, livestock details as well as licensed weapon details.
He asked the DSHO and CAHO Bandipora to establish necessary medical camps at various places for ensuring vaccination and other medical support to the animals in addition to the camps in pastures.
The DC also asked CMO Bandipora to establish medical camps in consultation with DSHO for providing necessary medical support to the tribal population.
He asked the CEO B’pora to ensure proper functioning of mobile schools. He also asked Assistant Director Food to ensure adequate provision of Ration to the tribal population.
Dr.Owais said, all the necessary arrangements are put in place to ensure hassle free and smooth movement of migratory tribal population besides providing all necessary facilities.
The meeting was attended by ADDC Bandipora Ali Afsar Khan, Commanding Officer 14RR, Representatives of 26 AR, 13RR, Joint Director Planning Imtiyaz Ahmad, SDM Gurez, CMO Bandipora, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer (CAHO) Bandipora, District Sheep Husbandry Officer Bandipora (DSHO), Assistant Director Food, DySP HQ Bandipora and other concerned officers.
