Workshop for Skill Dev of Calico Printing, bamboo craft organized in Palli

Samba : One day workshop for skill development of Calico Printing and Bamboo Craft was held at panchayatPalli, here Friday.
The workshop was organized by the office of the Assistant Director Handicrafts Samba. About 30 participants, which included mostly the women took part in the workshop. The workshop was organized to promote the heritage of district Samba- calico hand block printing and one district one product- Bamboo.
AD Handicrafts, Samba Niharika welcomed the participants to the workshop. Kanta Devi, Senior Craft Instructor, imparted the knowledge of Calico Printing and its importance whereasBhanuPratap, Junior Craft Instructor, provided a basic training of the bamboo products.
The team of five artisans of bamboo from district samba who had gone to Assam (NECBDC) to receive a 21 days training on capacity building on bamboo was also present on the occasion. They interacted with the participants and shared their experiences and learnings on bamboo from their stay in Assam.
Vote of thanks was presented by Sushil Kumar, HTO. Among others SubashChander HTO, Amit Kumar AHTO and Shashi Kumar were also present at the event.
