DC Ramban discusses modalities for Block Health Melas

Ramban| : Deputy Commissioner, Ramban, Mussarat Islam Friday discussed the modalities for organizing Block Health Mela in all four blocks of the district in collaboration with various departments and government agencies as per schedule.
CMO, Dr.Fareed Bhat, Dy. CMO, Dr. Iqbal Bhat, DIO, BMOs, DYSSO and other concerned officers were present in the meeting.
The DC informed that the Block Health Mela will be organized at Ukhral on April 18 and Batote on April 21. Similarly, the mela will be held at Gool on April 25 and at Banihal on April 27.
The purpose of the Block Health Mela is to build awareness about different health programmes with focus on Ayushman Bharat Health and wellness Centres, he added.
The DC directed the BMOs to ensure saturation in issuance of AB- PMJAY, SEHAT card to uncovered beneficiaries during these Block Health Melas by involving VLEs for on spot registration.
The DC directed the CMO and BMOs to give wide publicity to the event with the help of the Information Department besides taking PRIs onboard to involve more and more people in the event.
The DC directed the BMOs to coordinate with their concerned SDMs for taking help for other departments and agencies. He directed the Department of AYUSH to establish their stall in all four blocks to distribute AYUSH medicines among people.
The DC also directed the Department of Food Safety, Youth Services and Sports, AYUSH, School Education, Women and Child Development and Panchayati Raj Institutions and other departments to cooperate with the Health department to provide maximum benefit of their schemes to the people.
The CMO informed that in order to sensitize people regarding prevention of various communicable and non-communicable diseases, Screening of Hypertension, Diabetes, Oral Cancer, Breast Cancer, Cervical Cancer and TB awareness camp would be conducted.
