Awareness cum registration camp held for unorganised workers at Samba

Samba|April, 14: A mega awareness cum registration camp was Thursday organised for unorganized workers by the labour department under the aegis of District administration here at PalliPanchayatBariBrahmana Samba.
Hundreds of unorganised workers, including auto drivers, minibus drivers, retail shopkeepers, RehariWalas, street vendors, barbers, cleaners, Construction Workers participated in the awareness cum registration camp.
Assistant Labour Commissioner, Ranjeet Singh briefed in detail the process of registration/ post registration benefits which includes various social Security schemes and welfare measures for un-organised workers.
Underlining the importance of registration of unorganised workers, the ALC said that special camps are being organised through the common service centres (CSC) across the district in ensuing days.
Giving details about the documents, he said that registration on the e-shram portal will require Aadhaar details, active bank account details and mobile phone number.
He appealed to the participants to register in maximum numbers to get benefits under various social security schemes.
