Ramban : To promote communal harmony and strengthen the bond between populations of different communities through local traditions, customs and festivals, the Army Thursday hosted a scintillating function here at village Chareel to celebrateBaisakhi with the local residents.
The day of Baisakhi is marked to celebrate the foundation of KhalsaPanth in 1699, laid by tenth Guru, Gobind Singh. To celebrate the event, Langar was organised in which 53 individuals from all the communities came together and graced the occasion.
The initiative was a step towards strengthening communal harmony and would assist in reinforcing the bond of friendship among the local population by taking equal part in celebration of each other’s festivals.
