Srinagar On directions of Apni Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari, Former MLA Pahalgam and General Secretary Rafi Ahmad Mir has directed the concerned DDC members, Block Development Council representatives, Panchayat members and all the concerned officials to implement time-bound measures to tackle the dearth of rainfall.
In a statement to the press, Mir said all the concerned representatives need to gear up to mitigate the plight of farmers and fruit growers in relation to the scarcity of rainfall in the region. He called upon the district administration to intervene into the matter and assist the affected group to overcome the dearth.
“All the concerned authorities and representatives across the valley need to gear up for alleviating the aridity affecting the farmers throughout the valley. All the funds that are set out for relief program should be utilised to tackle the dry spell. The administration should also start the desilting process of water bodies and irrigation department needs to gear up for creating dimension of underground water sources,” he said.
