Iconic Week celebration: Activities held across Ang

Anantnag : As part of ‘AzadiKaAmritMahotsav’ initiative of government, celebrating 75 years of India’s Independence and celebration of Iconic Week, various activities were held across the Panchayats of the district to spread awareness and strengthen participation of local people.
A number of resolutions were adopted for saturation of 100 point programme indicators identified by the LG administration for Jammu and Kashmir and for adoption of one of the SDG as Sankalp (Mission) and set a timeline for its achievement.
Gram Swaraj Month is being observed to strengthen Panchayati Raj Institutions to realize the vision of Gram Swaraj. The Iconic Week celebrations are being held across the district and Gram Sabhas, Swachta drives, cleaning of Water bodies are being taken up in the district.
Plantation drives and sports activities are also being organized and panchayats have witnessed large participation of locals in these events.
Gram Sabhas and other activities were held in more than 100 Panchayats across 16 Community Development Blocks of Anantnag.
