Gram SwarajAbhiyan: DDC Kishtwar interacts with Women SHG Members

Kishtwar : District Development Commissioner Kishtwar Ashok Sharma Wednesday held an interactive session with the women Self Help Groups (Umeed) members of JKRLM here at conference hall DC Office complex Kishtwar under the aegis of Gram SwarajAbhiyan.
ADDC Kishtwar Sham Lal; DPO Kishtwar Sunil Bhutyal; JKRLM authorities were also present in the meeting.
The District Development Commissioner Kishtwar took note of the performance/achievements of the Mission & assured every possible support to Women SGHS in skill up-gradation and livelihood generation.
He informed them about different women empowerment interventions, measures and activities to be taken under the 100 points programme and sustainabledevelopment Goals rolled out under the Gram SwarajAbhiyan.
He impressed upon them to participate in the Gram SwarajAbhiyan to saturate the women section with various Centrally Sponsored Schemes and mobilize otherwomen under the mission for registration under various welfare and social security schemes.
The DDC also informed them that district administration, in convergence with other departments, was going to establish “Rural Haat” at District headquarter Kishtwar and is also mulling to launch an e-marketing linkage which will serve as a common platform to exhibit and sell the local crafts and value added products of SHGs on national levelthus increasing their income manifolds.
The District Development Commissioner impressed upon the SHG members to rope in the women members in the collection, segregation and disposal of the solid waste management activities under the Swachht Bharat Abhiyan. “It will boost SBM on one hand and provideincome generation opportunities to women folks on other hand” he said.
Meanwhile, the women SHG members also apprised the DDC about the problems being faced in the implementation of mission at grassroots level.
The DDC assured them that their genuine grievances/issues will be redressed in a time bound manner.
