Free Solar Cookers distributed among residents of Palli Panchayat

Samba : Jammu and Kashmir energy Development Agency, Science and Technology Department and District Administration Samba Wednesday organised a Block Divas meeting in PanchayatPali.
During the Block Divas celebration, JAKEDA, S & T distributed free of cost solar box type cookers and Biomass fuel efficient cook-stoves amongst all households of the Panchayat under Gram UrjaSwaraj Programme.
Under the Gram UrjaSwaraj Programme, the Government of India has committed to solarize 75 Panchayats across the country by August 15, 2023 and develop 100 MW Capacity solar plants by August 15, 2025.
In J&K, the Prime Minister of India has selected the PanchayatPalli of District Samba to be provided with solar energy.
Under the said programme a solar power plant of 500 KW capacity is being installed in the said Panchayat.
The function was attended by Anuradha Gupta, Deputy Commissioner Samba; Dr. P R Dhav, Chief Executive Officer, JAKEDA; Rajinder Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner Samba; Regional Head JAKEDA, besides various other officers of JAKEDA and district Administration Samba. SarpanchpanchayatpaliRardhir Sharma was also present.
Dr.Dhar also spoke on use of Renewable energy devices and its benefits.
