DGP sanctions Rs.2.04 crore as Spl Welfare Relief for NoKs of slain, deceased police personnel,SPOs

Jammu : With an aim to provide financial support to the families of the deceased police personnel/ SPOs who have been killed in the line of duty or have passed away while in service, the Director-General Jammu & Kashmir Polioce Dilbag Singh has sanctioned rupees 72 lakh as Special Welfare Relief vide different orders to ease up their financial needs.

Shri Singh has sanctioned Special Relief of rupees six lakh in favour of NoK of martyr SPO Zubair Ahmad Shah who attained martyrdom in a grenade attack during the course of his engagement in the department.

The DGP also sanctioned special welfare relief of rupees 22 lakh each in favour of dependents/legal heirs of deceased Police personnel SgCt Mushtaq Ahmad, SgCt Ajit Singh and SgCt Ganesh Dass. These personnel passed away due to illness, accidents/ natural death while in service.

Rupees one lakh each to NoKs of deceased Police personnel and rupees fifty thousand to the NoKs of slain SPO has been already paid through their concerned units for performing their last rites. The Special Welfare Relief has been sanctioned out of the Contributory Police Welfare Fund and Contributory Welfare Fund of SPOs.

According to another order issued by Police Headquarters welfare gift of rupees forty thousand each has been sanctioned in favour of SPOs Ashok Kumar and Garib Dass who attained the age of 60 years. The welfare gift has been sanctioned out of SPOs Contributory Welfare Fund.
Pertinent to mention that Police Headquarters is running many schemes for the welfare of its personnel and their families. There are also schemes for the wards of Police personnel and SPOs. Besides, there are schemes for the NoKs of slain police personnel, their wards and also for the retired Police personnel.
