Laying special focus on up-skilling of the youth, the DDC asked the concerned officers to explore new modalities to hone the ability of the talented youth by taking skill development to grassroots level.
A proposed Skill development plan under SANKALP (Skills Acquisition and Knowledge Awareness for Livelihood Promotion) was also discussed in depth. The concerned apprised that Rajouri being the border district has been selected under the plan and the total cost of the project is Rs 2 crore and the targeted groups are mainly the ST/SC population, women and marginalized social groups.
It was further informed that SANKALP aims to improve short-term skill development planning and implementation by employing decentralisation as a strategy, monitoring skilling activities and promoting convergence.
Various aspects of the plan, including capacity building, quality and market relevance and inclusion were also discussed threadbare during the meeting.
