Ganderbal : The Chairperson, District Development Council (DDC) Ganderbal, NuzhatIshfaq Tuesday visited the residence of Khurshed Ahmad Larwal at Kondbal Ganderbal, who lost the precious life in a quarry accident at Safapora yesterday to extend condolence to the bereaved family.
The Chairperson expressed solidarity and sympathy with the bereaved family and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul.
Nuzhat also visited the residence of GhulamNabiLarwal, who was injured in the accident.
On the occasion, DDC Chairperson handed over cheques worth Rs 50,000 to the Next of Kin of the deceased and Rs 10,000 to the injured.
Nuzhat on the occasion said that the need of the hour is to provide health insurance cover to such laborers and their families besides having an old age pension scheme to help such laborers live a dignified life in their old age.
She also spoke telephonically to the Director of SKIMS to provide all medical facilities to the injured admitted there.
DDC members of Wakura and Safapora, former MLA Ganderbal Sheikh IshfaqJabbar besides other officers accompanied her.
