Multifarious activities held across Akhnoor Block under Gram Swaraj Abhiyan

Jammu : As part of month-long Gram SwarajAbhiyan, under the aegis of AzadikaAmritMahotsav, a wide range of activities are being organised across the Panchayats of Akhnoor block of District Jammu by the Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, in collaboration with other line departments and Panchayati Raj Institutions and its members and public in general.
Panchayat Secretariats were setup and inaugurated at panchayatsKotlitanda, GurhaBrahmana East, Bomal, Sungal upper, Pangiari, KotGarhi, DhokJagir, KainkJagir, Daskal, Gandharwan and Ambaran. Gram Sabhas were held &Sthapnadiwas resolutions were passed in Ambaran, Garkhal, KainkJagir, BandralKhurd, DhokJagir among others and themes including Engendered development, Child Friendly village, Healthy village, Poverty free & Enhanced livelihood, Water sufficient Village, Good governance, Socially secured Gram panchayat, Self sufficient Infrastructure, Clean & Green Village will be focused upon by the panchayats concerned.
Plantation and Cleanliness drives, particularly at Rajachak, Bomal, GurhaBrahmana West, DhokJagir, KainkJagir were held with the participation of PRI members and a message citing the importance of Clean and Green surroundings was forwarded among the masses.
The District Administration and the local self government institutions are working in tandem to raise awareness and register the masses for the various pro- people schemes prescribed under the 100 point programme rolled out by the Lieutenant Governor, Jammu & Kashmir during this month-long Gram SwarajAbhiyan.
This will help in ensuring the public participation in the developmental process and taking it to the doorstep of every household.
