Gram Sabhas held across B’la, 260 Panchayat Secretariats established

Baramulla : In order to achieve the goal of Good Governance at grass roots level, Tuesday on the 2nd day of celebrations of the Iconic week the Block Development Officers inspected the recently established Panchayat Secretariats in the district.
The visiting officers held detailed discussion with the officials of the line departments present there.
It has been advised to the officials and PRIs manning the Panchayat Secretariats to work in team spirit for redressal of the individual and community based issues through Panchayat Secretariats making optimal use of the Panchayat and forward the cases to higher authorities through proper channel wherever the intervention of the superior officials is required on priority basis, so that the main purpose of the panchayat Secretariat is achieved in letter and spirit.
The Panchayat Secretaries were directed to maintain the prescribed record of the Panchayat Secretariat in an official manner. It has also been advised to the concerned officials to upload the activities on jkpanchayat.in on regular basis.
Assistant Commissioner Panchayat Baramulla, Gulzar Ahmad Khan while inspecting the Panchayat Secretariat Kanispora Baramulla stated that 260 Panchayat Secretariats stand already established in the available Panchayat buildings of the district and the remaining ones where the panchayat building is not available, the other feasible Government buildings are being identified for declaration as Panchayat Secretariat by District Administration.
