GDC Kathua organises Intra-College Essay Writing Competition

Kathua : Department of English, GDC, Kathua Tuesday organized an Intra-college Essay Writing Competition on the theme “Pros and Cons of Online Education” and “Domestic Violence during the period of Lockdown” under the supervision of Principal Prof. Raj Kiran.
The main aim of this competition was to encourage the creative ability of the students to think and present their ideas in a compact form.
A total of 20 students of different streams participated in the event.
Kunal, a student of 3rd Semester bagged 1st position, while Riya Jha of Semester 3rd got 2nd Position and Vishali, Kashish and Gunjan of Semester 3rd, 1st & 1st respectively bagged 3rd positions.
Prof.Neha Mahajan, Prof.ShivaniKotwal and Dr.Chetna Gupta of GDC Kathua were the jury members.
The Principal congratulated the winners and other participants for their participation in the event with full enthusiasm.
The event was moderated by Convener, Literary Activities of College and Head of the Department of English Dr.SeemaMalpotra. While speaking on the occasion, Dr.SeemaMalpotra said such activities are helpful during the time of pandemic to enhance the writing skills of the students.
The program was coordinated by Dr. Eva Sharma, Dr.NitashaBaloria and Prof.Rakhi Malhotra, faculty and members of Literary Activities of the College.
