Drug peddler detained under PIT NDPS Act in Handwara: Police

Handwara :Police on Monday said that it has detained a notorious drug peddler under PIT NDPS Act in Handwara.
In a statement issued on Monday police said that one habitual offender and drug peddler namely Gh Nabi Dar @Nab Dar son of Munawar Dar resident of PaziporaVilgam was arrested for involvement in narcotic crimes, stating therein further that the said accused has been detained under PIT NDPS Act through orders issued by competent authority.
“The said drug peddler has been detained under the provisions of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substance Act for his repeatedly involvement in selling and distributing drugs viz Heroine, Charas etc among the populace of Vilgam, Pazipora, Dingre, DedikotTarathpora and Kralpora areas and for his involvement in other crimes also”, reads the statement further.
In the concluding para of its statement police appealed people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood but warned that people found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt with as per law, stating therein further that consistent actions against drug peddlers are taken to keep society free from the scourge of drug menace.
