Bandipora: As part of ‘Gram Swaraj Month’ the Gram Sabhas and other activities including sanitation and plantation drives besides oath ceremonies were organized here under the supervision of District Administration and Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Bandipora.
Among others, PRIs, frontline workers and locals, besides the functionaries of the Rural Development Department participated.
Gram Swaraj Month is being observed as an effort to strengthen the Panchayat Raj Institutions (PRIs) and to realize the vision of Gram Swarajviz-a-viz democratic decentralization and saturation of 100 points programme targeted by the Govt of Jammu and Kashmir.
During the Gram Sabhas, a detailed discussion was held on the 100 points programme which has been recently devised by the Government for saturation.
Threadbare discussions were held regarding PMAY, JJM household plan, Hospitals, Anganwadicenters, Health &Wellness Centers, PM Cares, e-Library, Kindergarten, Rural Haat, HarPanchayatEkPanchayatGhar, a road to every village-PMGSY, property Card, website for all Panchayats, domicile, Aadhar, golden health card, Patwar-khana, Land pass book, soil health card, Panchayat Secretariat, Panchayat good Governance and so on.
The participants, especially PRIs highlighted their issues and grievances pertaining to, establishment of Panchayat Secretariats, rural connectivity and other individual beneficiary schemes besides hailing efforts of the department in establishing Panchayat Secretariats in various panchayats.
On the occasion, several issues were redressed by the RDD functionaries whereas assurances were given to redress other remaining grievances within a fixed time frame. The participants also expressed their feedback and suggestions with regard to socio-economic development and good governance in rural areas.
