Sopore : In order to bridge the gap between general public and Police for better coordination, Police on Saturday facilitated PCPG meetings at Police Station Panzla and Police Post Watergam, Sopore.
According to a police statement at Police Post Watergam the meeting was chaired by SDPO Rafiabad Ameen Bhat along with SHO Police Station Dangiwacha, in-charge PP Watergam and other officers. The meeting was attended by Auqaf committees of Behrampora, Hadipora, Watergam, Ladoora, Hib Dangerpora and other local villages.
Another meeting was held at Police Station Panzla and chaired by SHO Police Station Panzla. The meeting was attended by the representatives of Wuhlutra, Kamad, Brandub, Shutloo and Khahmoh areas.
The participants in these meetings, raised several issues of public importance. The chairing officers assured for time bound redressal of grievances pertaining to Police and civil departments and would be taken up with concerned authorities for immediate redressal. The participants were also advised to install CCTV cameras in all the commercial establishments. The chairing officers also requested the participants to advice the youth of their respective areas to remain away from drugs and keep an eye on the drug addicts/peddlers.
The participants in these meetings assured their full co-operation to Police in tackling social evils and also appreciated the efforts of Police in facilitating community interaction meets where participants express their opinions freely.
