Jammu, : Continuing with his series of visits to review security scenarios’ of districts in the valley the Director General J&K Police Dilbag Singh on Saturday afternoon visited Ganderbal district where he inaugurated Joint Interrogation Center at Police Component Ganderbal and later chaired officers meeting to review the security scenario and also preparedness for the upcoming annual Amarnath Yatra.
The DGP was accompanied by Spl. DG CID R. R. Swain, IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar and DIG CKR Sujit Kumar. He was received by SSP Ganderbal Nikhil Borkar and was presented guard of honour on his arrival.
Soon after inauguration the DGP along with other senior officers inspected the newly constructed building. He was apprised by the SSP Ganderbal Borkar about the facilities and gadgets with latest new technology that will be available at the new office to achieve better results in investigative and operational work. The DGP informed the officers that Police Headquarters is always ready to provide any state of art facilities to its personnel which would prove useful in policing.
Chairing the officers meeting the DGP commended the work and role of district police Ganderbal in maintaining peace and order and also in curbing the nefarious designs of anti national elements. He directed them to be more vigilant and keep pressure on the anti national elements and their supporters. He stressed upon officers to identify the people and OGWs who support these anti national elements and help in sustaining the militant eco-system. He appreciated the recent successes of J&K Police and other security forces in different encounters.
The DGP emphasized upon the officers that while dealing with any anti-militancy activities and law and order scenario, civilian convenience and security should be always kept in mind to the best possible extent. He directed the officers to continue to maintain cordial relations with the general public and stressed to organize police community partnership group meetings at the grass root level.
The DGP directed the officers to look into the welfare and genuine grievances of jawans who are working day/night to maintain peace of Jammu and Kashmir. He informed the officers that at Police Headquarters level various welfare measures were taken in the past and continuous efforts are being taken to facilitate more welfare and promotional measures for its officers and jawans.
On the occasion a detailed Power Point Presentation was presented to the DGP with regard to the upcoming annual Amarnath Yatra. The DGP directed the officers to prepare and to take all necessary measures for smooth and peaceful conduct of Amarnath Yatra. He said that all the measures should be taken with regard to the security and logistics point of view. He said that Police Headquarters will provide all the necessary support system for conduct of peaceful yatra.
The meeting was attended by Spl DGP CID R R Swain, IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar, DIG CKR Sujit Kumar, SSP Ganderbal Nikhil Borkar, ASP Ganderbal Feroz, and other gazetted officers of the district.
During the meeting SSP Ganderbal and other officers briefed the DGP regarding the ground situation and security measures taken in the district for the peace and order.
Later the DGP visited 24 RR Bn Hqrs at DuderHama Ganderbal where Brig. Atul Rajput, Commander 3 Sector RR and Colonel D V Reddy SM CO 24 RR briefed the DGP on the preparations made by units under the 3 Sector RR for upcoming SANJ Yatra 2022.
