Kishtwar : Acting on the public complaints regarding inequitable water supply distribution in the Kishtwar town and its adjoining areas, Additional Deputy Commissioner KishtwarKishoriLal Sharma inspected main water installations in the town and adjoining areas and took stock of the Water Supply Distribution System.
He was accompanied by Xen PHE Jal Shakti Division Kishtwar Anil Kailu, concerned Junior Engineers and field staff.
During the inspection, a threadbare discussion was held with the XEN and JEs regarding the water distribution in the town and its periphery areas. The ADC Kishtwar found irrationalities and irregularities in the Water Distribution System (WDS).
During the inspection, it was found that more than 20 service lines are in haphazard manner besides the feeding lines were irrationally laid.
The ADC also found many bottlenecks neglected by the concerned departments which are impeding the proper and judicious distribution of water supply particularly in the town.
He directed the XEn PHE to remove all such bottlenecks on an immediate basis to ease the suffering of the people.
The department was strictly asked to maintain the water log book at every Installation i.e Filtration plant, distribution junctions and consumer level. The field functionaries were directed to record the number of hours supply received and number of hours supply provided area wise/household wise for a transparent and judicious Water Supply Distribution System.
The XEn PHE was asked to provide the list of all employees posted in Kishtwar town and its adjoining villages, their exact location of posting, area assigned, Pipe lines assigned, their previous three postings with stay position to District Administration to fix the responsibility and monitor the performance, including that of DRW, Casual Labourers and HR workers within three days.
