Rehabilitate fire victims of Gurwaith Khansahib, ensure fire safety measures across Kashmir: Hakeem tells JK Govt

Khansahib (Budgam)| April, 8 : Chairman People’s Democratic Front (PDF) and former Minister Hakeem Muhammad Yaseen has expressed shock and sorrow over the devastating fire incident in Gurwaith Khansahib , causing clossal loss to the households and property worth Crores of Rupees. He has urged the government to announce a comprehensive rehabilitation scheme for all the families which have been devastated due to various fire incidents across the kashmir province .
In a statement issued on Friday Hakeem while expressing grief over the loss of many residential houses in Gurwaith Khansahib, has urged the government to announce a comprehensive rehabilitation scheme for the fire victims . He said ,in addition to the routine ex- gratia relief, government should frame a comprehensive rehabilitation scheme for the fire sufferers . He said economic position of the people in Kashmir was in a bad condition adding that fire victims can not rebuild their gutted houses and household goods unless they are provided rehabilitation package both in cash and kind by the government . He said fire victims need total rehabilitation by the government not only free ration , utensils and blankets from Red Cross Society . Hakeem also sought attention of the government towards increasing number of devastating fire incidents across Kashmir valley adding that government should put in place adequate fire safety measures by increasing the number of fire stations .
