Dir Agri(J) reviews preparedness for celebration of Panchayati Raj Day

Jammum : Director Agriculture Production & Farmers Welfare, Jammu, K. K. Sharma Friday reviewed the preparedness for celebration of National Panchayati Raj day here at a meeting held in the Conference hall, KrishiBhawan, TalabTillo.
Pertinently, Prime Minister, NarinderModi is visiting Jammu & Kashmir for “Panchayati Raj day” celebration on April 24 during which he will interact with Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRI) like District Development Councils (DDCs), Block Development Councils (BDCs) and Panchayats (Sarpanchs&Panchs)
Threadbare deliberations were held in the meeting on different aspects for successful celebration of Panchayati Raj Day.
Addressing the meeting, the Director Agriculture impressed upon the participants to identify clusters of panchayats and selection of progressive farmers for Panchayati Raj Day.
Instructions were passed on to Chief Agriculture Officers (CAOs) regarding submission of 20 success stories from each district, saturation of Soil Health Cards (SHCs), verification/correction of PM-KISAN and expediting e-KYC under KCC.
It was decided in the meeting to keep all arrangement intact for display of rural technology like solar pumps, solar dryers, urban gardening, vermicomposting, waste decomposer, nano-urea, medicinal/aromatic plants, JMU-KHETI products and literature regarding natural farming, farmer welfare schemes being implemented by agriculture and allied departments.
Those present in the meeting included Joint Director (Inputs), A. S. Reen; Joint Director (Extension), SubashChander Sharma; Joint Director (Farms), Rajinder Sharma; Joint Director (Marketing), Mahesh Verma; Deputy Director (Central), Agronomist (VIS), Deputy Director (Trainings), Agriculture Chemist, Agriculture Economist and other senior officers of the department besides all Chief Agriculture Officers (CAOs) of Jammu Division.
