Budgam : Police on Friday said that it has arrested two persons and seized 02 vehiclesfor Illegal extraction & transportation of minerals in budgam.
In a statement issued on Friday police said that while acting on specific information regarding illegal extraction & transportation of minerals at Sehipora Magam, a police party of Police Station Magam established a checking point in the area and upon checking intercepted two vehicles (Tippers) bearing registration numbers JKO3B-0560 & JK01T-4280 loaded with illegally extracted mineral and arrested two persons.
Stating that the accused have been identified as Nadeem Ahmad Mir son of Ali Mohd Mir resident of Sehipora and Aijaz Ahmad Dar son of Abdul Aziz Dar resident of Chewa, Police in its statement further said that a case vide FIR No. 48/2022 under relevant sections of law stands registered at Police Station Magam and further investigation has been initiated.
Police in the concluding para of it’s above-referred statement asked people not to indulge in illegal mining activities from any Nallah as it is a violation of Government rules. Police in it’s statement also warned that people found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law and asked people to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units.
