Thief booked under PSA in Kupwara: Police

Srinagar : Police on Thursday said that it has booked a notorious thief under public safety act (PSA) in Kupwara after obtaining necessary sanction from the authorities.
In a statement issued on Thursday police said that a notorious thief namely Mudasir Ahmad Lone son of Late Abdul Majeed Lone resident of Mughalpora Kupwara was on Thursday detained under Public Safety Act by Kupwara Police after obtaining sanctions from the concerned authorities for his unrelenting criminal acts of burglary and theft, stating therein that the said accused was involved in at least five cases of burglary and theft in and around Kupwara town. Police in the above referred statement also said that apart from his involvement in several FIRs, the accused had created an atmosphere of terror and fear among general public of the area.
Police in the concluding para of it’s statement further said that consistent actions against anti-social elements are taken to keep society free from the scourge of inimical elements.
