Samba : Municipality Committee Vijaypur has initiated strict measures against road encroachment by shopkeepers, Hawkers, RehriWalas across the Vijaypur town.
Executive Officer MC Vijaypur, Ravi Saini informed that around 150 encroachments by shopkeepers have been removed from the Main Bazar Vijaypur and a fine of Rs 2600 was imposed on violators. He said similar action shall be taken in different parts of the town including the Main Bazar, Railway Road, Highway Roads and other places.
EO said, it was observed that many people have constructed sheds and structures for car parking in several places in violation of Municipal rules. A few have placed Rehris on road block passage of the vehicles in the area. He said the Municipality has also launched an awareness drive to educate the shopkeepers and hawkers not to congest road.
