Ganderbal, : On the directions of District Administration Ganderbal, a joint team of Food Safety and FCS&CA Thursday conducted extensive Market checking of Main Market Duderhama Ganderbal especially Butchers, Grocery stores, Nanwais and Chicken sellers.
The team headed by Assistant Commissioner Food Safety Ganderbal, Shagoofa Jalal and Assistant Director FCS&CA Dr.Naseer Ahmad along with Food Safety Officers imposed fine on erring traders and rotten fruits and Vegetables were destroyed on the spot.
Speaking on the occasion, the AC Food Safety said that in order to ensure the quality and price control in market and to keep vigil on erring traders especially in the ongoing month of Ramadan, such drives will be conducted on a routine basis so that quality of commodities is ensured throughout the district.
Moreover, all stakeholders viz. Butchers, Chicken sellers, Nanwais, fruit and vegetable sellers were directed to adhere to Govt. approved rates in letter and spirit and also maintain sanitation and hygiene under Schedule 4 of Food Safety & Standards Act-2006.
