Kathua : Kathua Unit of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department Wednesday organised a series of activities as a part of month-long Gram Swaraj Program here across all Panchayats of the district.
The field functionaries from Rural Development and other line departments attended the Panchayat Level Gram Sabhas, in which PRIs and the public participated and deliberated upon the issues pertaining to development of rural areas and holding of cleanliness and sanitation drives.
As informed by ACD, Kathua Kishore Singh Katoch, the day long activities included issues related to Holding of Gram Sabhas, Establishment of Panchayat Secretariats, Saturation of PMAY (G) houses besides discussions on developmental issues enshrined in the Government’s 100 points program, SDGs.
While sharing the details of progress made under Gram Swaraj Program, the ACD said that 65.17% of the works have been completed under PMAY Awass Plus whereas 134 Gram Sabhas were held wherein resolutions regarding selection of themes were passed. He also informed that 98 Panchayat Secretariats have been established across the district Wednesday.
During the day long program, pledge has been taken by PRIs and other locals regarding Swachh Gaon and achievement of SDG under Gram Swaraj Program.
