Samba: Modalities for holding maiden AYUSH GRAM finalized for Palli Panchayat

Nakshatra Vana, Navagarha Vatika also announced for the area

Samba : Directorate of AYUSH J&K, in collaboration with District Administration Samba, finalized the modalities for the first ever Ayush Gram in Panchayat Palli of District Samba, here Tuesday.
Director AYUSH J&K, Dr. Mohan Singh, informed that Under National Ayush Mission, Panchayat Palli has been adopted for implementation of all the components of AYUSH Gram including AYUSH based lifestyle through behavioural change, communication, training of village health workers towards identification and use of local medicinal herbs and provision of AYUSH health services and adoption of life styles based on the principles and practices of Ayu
Dr. Mohan Singh also announced the establishment of Nakshatra Vana (Celestial Forest), Navagarha Vatika consisting of medicinal plants with Astro-medicinal values and an indigenous Yoga Space for the practice of local residents under the guidance of experts from the department.
An Ayush Health and Wellness centre was also announced to be established in the Gram Panchayat.
During the visit of Director AYUSH Palli Panchayat, a series of activities were conducted by the department including a multispecialty mega camp where 122 patients were examined by a team of doctors and free Ayush Medicines were also dispensed among the needy patients.
While interacting with ASHAs, members of PRIs and Anganwadi Workers, Dr. Mohan urged the staff of Ayush Department and others to take the principles and practices of Ayush to each and every household. He also emphasized the formation of a digital database of health record of Ayush Gram Palli. He shared his vision for making Palli a Model Ayush Gram so that the model can be replicated in other blocks as well.
During the visit Additional District Development Commissioner Samba Rajinder Singh, Nodal Office Ayush Samba Dr. Vikram Jamwal, Sarpanch Randhir Sharma besides medical officers from AYUSH dept were also present.
