Doda : RDD holds series of Gram Sabhas to mark the launch of Gram Swaraj Month

Doda : Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Tuesday held a series of Gram Sabhas across District Doda to mark the launch of Gram Swaraj Month (1st April to 24th April) under Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.
During Gram Sabhas, a number of resolutions were adopted for saturation of 100 point program indicators identified by the LG administration.
The resolution was also adopted on Sthapna Divas of Panchayats iconic week Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav and adoption of annual plan GPDP in the Panchayats.Assistant Commissioner Development, Phulail Singh Bandral ordered the establishment of Panchayat Secretariats in each Panchayat. In the first instant, 129 Panchayat Secretariats were established in Panchayats having Panchayat Bhawan.
Besides, the Gram Sabhas also ensured to work out a strategy to eradicate the use of plastic, develop Swach Panchayat and formulate Panchayat heritage plan and Panchayat tourism plan.
The Gram Swaraj Month activities were also held at Block Khellani, Block Dali-Udyanpur, Block Assar, and Chilly Pingal. The program with 100 different commitments and agendas will focus on rural infrastructure, good governance, youth empowerment, environment protection, wage employment and increased women participation.
Gram Swaraj Month is being observed to strengthen Panchayati Raj Institutions so as to realize the vision of Gram Swaraj viz-a-viz democratic decentralization and saturation of 100 point program targeted by the Govt. of Jammu and Kashmir.
