Div Com(K) reviews progress on Transit Room tenements, other migrant issues

  Officers directed to issue couple migrant employees transfer order in 10 days

Amid dry, hot and humid weather, hundreds of people including men, women and children mostly bare foot visited the revered suffi Saint Shrine Sheikh Noor-Ud-Wali popularly known as Nund Resh at Charar-e- Sharief in Budgam district on Sunday for prayers to seek rainfall to end the drought season in Kashmir valley. Srinagar : The Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Pandurang K Pole Tuesday chaired a meeting regarding Transit Room Tenements and Migrant issues with respect to physical & financial progress of under construction migrant quarters, status of transfer of land, preparation for DPR for water, road, power and inclusion of DPRs to regulate plans for Districts and State, couple transfer of migrant employees nearer to cities till accommodation is constructed.

The meeting was attended by Secretary DMRRR; Representatives of School Education, Kashmir; SWD, Kashmir; Health Services Kashmir; Relief and Rehabilitation, Commissioner J&K, JKPCC; CEs of PWD, PHE, KPDCL, and Additional Commissioners  of Revenue of Pulwama, Kulgam, Anantnag and Kupwara.

Div Com reviewed physical status of work at proposed sites in districts for construction of towers for migrant accommodation. On the occasion, he asked officers to complete tendering process within ten days and give work allotments even single contractor participates in bidding process under rules.Besides, he directed concerned officers of PWD, PHE and KPDCL to include expenditure of approach roads, culverts, water and power in regular schemes including district plans, state plans and Centrally Sponsored Schemes.

He emphasized on identifying a single patch of required land at one places instead of scattered plots.

He also directed officers to complete acquisition and transfer of land on fast track basis without causing any delay and address the issues if any within a stipulated time of one week.

The meeting was informed that over five thousand nine hundred flats are to be constructed at different locations including Marhama, Machbawan, Gohal, Odhina, Wandhama, Kulangam etc.

Meanwhile, Div Com directed officers of different departments including Education, Social Welfare, Revenue, Finance, Health, Rural development, PWD etc to issue transfer order  of couple migrant employees to single district near cities besides  migrant employees within ten days.

The meeting was informed that many applications have been received from couple migrant employees for transfer to nearby locations in single district and near cities.
