DDC Doda inspects upcoming Vegetable, Fruit Mandi at Kanderi Nalla

Doda : District Development Commissioner Doda, Vikas Sharma Tuesday inspected progress of work on the upcoming Vegetable and Fruit Mandi (Market) being constructed by the Department of Horticulture Planning and Marketing Jammu and Kashmir, here at Kandari Nalla Assar.
The DDC was accompanied by Sub – Divisional Megustrate Assar, Reshi Sharma, Area Marketing officer Sunil Signh, Tehsildar Assar, other officials of Horticulture Planning and Marketing and Agriculture Department.
A number of RRIs and local fruit and vegetable growers of the area interacted with the DDC.
It was informed that the maximum work of the facility has been completed and some minor work is underway and shall be completed in a few days. The Mandi is likely to be inaugurated this month. The DDC reiterated that the facility shall boost the economy of fruit and vegetable farmers of the area.
The DDC impressed upon the team for the early functioning of the market. He directed the AMO to present a comprehensive plan of operationalization of the Mandi before the inaugural function so as to inform the public and farmers in advance.
As the area is a major vegetable growing area of the district, the operationalization of the Mandi will ease the trading of vegetables and fruits for the farmers with better opportunities and profit. He encouraged farmers to enhance their cultivation and use the Mandi with better infrastructure for optimum earnings out of their produce.
