Srinagar : The Deputy Director, Handicrafts & Handloom Department, MirzaShahid Ali Beigh Tuesday inspected a number of training centres in Budgam district and assured the artisans and weavers all help from the department.
Beigh interacted with the artisans and also visited various training centres in the Beeru area. He on the occasion called for conducting handicraft exhibitions at tourist places in the district.
He also instructed the officials to fast track the registration process for coverage of the maximum number of unregistered artisans so that they can also get the benefit of government schemes and also urged the artisans to form self-help groups for which the department is currently infusing capital to the greater extent.
Artisans/ Weavers were informed about various Developmental Programs like Development of Clusters, GI registration, Financial Support Schemes etc introduced by the department for their welfare.
