DC Reasi discusses arrangements for Baisakhi Festival at Dera Baba Banda Bahadur shrine

Reasi : The District Administration Reasi has started preparation for organising the annual Baisakhi Festival at Dera Baba Banda Bahadur shrine.
In this regard, Deputy Commissioner, Babila Rakwal chaired a meeting in the video-conference Hall of DC office which was attended by ADC Abdul Star; SSP Amit Gupta; ACD Anirudh Rai; CMO Dr Rajeev Sharma; DIO Sushil Singh; Tehsildar Munshi Ram; ARTO Rajesh Gupta; ATO Prakshit Sharma; TSO FCS@&CA Ram Pal; Naib Tehsildar Dera Baba Priyanka Bharti, beside other officers.
The meeting discussed the arrangements in connection with the celebration of the Baisakhi festival at the Holy Shrine of Dera Baba Banda Bahadur,Reasi.
The DC directed the concerned departments to ensure provisioning of essential services at the Shrine during this festive season starting from April 12, 2022 to April 14, 2022.
A representative from Dera Baba Banda Bahadur requested the administration to make provision for uninterrupted electricity and water supply during the festival. The DC Reasi directed PDD and PHE departments to start the arrangements at war footing for the festival.
Besides, the DC Reasi directed the concerned departments to ensure provisioning of Medical Van, Safai Karamcharis, repair and maintenance of roads leading to shrine, arrangement and provisioning of adequate number of buses for ferrying pilgrims, regulated parking arrangements, Installation of Solar lights, Gas cylinders, repair and maintenance of tourism infrastructure including tourism tower lights, law and order and observance of covid related SOPs.
Keeping in view the unpredictable rise in water level of the river Chenab during the Summer season every year, the DC Reasi directed the law and order maintaining agencies to keep extra vigil on the movement of pilgrims mostly children and youth during festive season to avert any undesirable and untoward incident at the Holy site.
Baisakhi Festival at Dera Baba Banda Bahadur is celebrated every year and a large number of pilgrims from across the country come to pay obeisance at the Shrine.
A large number of pilgrims, with majority of them from Delhi and Haryana states, pay obeisance at the Holy Shrine every year. A dangal is also held on the concluding day of this festival which adds to the jubilations and celebrations.
