254 Panchayats covered under Har Gaon Haryali

Panchayat secretariats made functional in several blocks

Rajouri : District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Vikas Kundal Tuesday chaired a meeting to review the progress made under special Adhar enrollment drive and Har Gaon Hariyali being carried out in the district as a part of the Gram Swaraj.
Officers who attended the meeting included DFO Rajouri, Arshdeep Singh; DFO Nowshera, Neelima; CPO, Mohammad Khurshid; DPO, Kartar Singh; CEO Education, Shailash Kumari and other concerned officers.
Taking stock of the Aadhar enrollment in ICDS Anganwari centres, the meeting was informed that twenty percent children in 0 to 05 year age group have been enrolled so far.
The DDC directed the ICDS and Postmaster Rajouri to organize special enrollment camps to cover all the left out children in the said age group at the earliest.
He further directed the Postmaster to liaise with the Chief Education Officer and organize special camps at private schools to enroll the age-appropriate students.
Regarding Aadhar enrollment of other children, the DDC was informed that 86 percent of the population in the 6-18 age group have been covered and the process is on to achieve 100 percent coverage.
The DDC also reviewed the plantation under the Har Gaon Hariyali campaign and the meeting was informed that 254 Panchayats have been covered so far the restwould also be covered in the coming days.
The DDC was also informed that the Panchayat secretariats have been made functional in several blocks of the district during the Gram Swaraj Month campaign.
Newly appointed DCDRC takes Oath of office at Udhampur
Udhampur: The oath taking ceremony for newly appointed President and Member of District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (DCDRC) was held in the Mini Conference Hall DC Office Complex Udhampur, here Tuesday.
The oath of office and secrecy was administered by Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur Indu Kawal Chib.
Kishore Kumar (Rtd. District & Session Judge) took oath as President, District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission Udhampur and Sudesh Gupta (Rtd. Managing Director, JKRTC) took oath as member of the DCDRC Udhampur.
The oath ceremony was also attended by Chairperson, District Development Council Reasi, Saraf Singh Nag, Principal District & Session Judge Udhampur, Y.P Bourney, SSP Udhampur, Vinod Kumar, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Mohammad Syed Khan, President Beopar Mandal Association Udhampur, Secretary Associated Chamber of Commerce and President Bar Association Udhampur.
As per the provisions of the Consumer Protection Act passed by the Parliament, District Consumer Redressal Commissions are established for timely and effective settlement of consumers’ disputes.
The Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission can entertain complaints related to overcharging or deceptive charging, unfair or restrictive trade practices, sale of hazardous goods and services and sale of defective goods. These District Commissions are now authorized to entertain consumer complaints having value up to Rs 1 crore against the earlier limit of Rs 20.00 lakh.
