2 arrested for Illegal mining and extraction of minerals, 2 vehiclesseized in Budgam: Police

Budgam : Police on Tuesday said that it has arrested two persons and also seized 2 vehicles for illegal mining and extraction of minerals in budgam.
In a statement issued on Tuesday police said “officers from PS Khansahib during patrolling near Nalla Shali-Ganga, arrested two persons and seized 02 vehicles (Tippers) involved in illegal mining and extraction of minerals from Nalla Shali-Ganga”, adding that “ the accused have been identified as Shahnawaz Ahmed Sheikh son of Ghulam Rasool Sheikh resident of Drager Khansahib and Mohammad Maqbool Najar son of Sona-ullah Najar resident of Lanilab Mujipathri”.
Stating that that a case under relevant sections of law has been registered and further investigation has been initiated, Police in it’s above referred statement asked people not to indulge in illegal mining activities from any Nallah as it is the violation of Government rules. Police in it’s statement also warned that people found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law and asked people to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units.
