Theft case solved in Budgam, 2 arrested : Police

Budgam: Police on Monday said that it has solved a theft case in in Budgam and also arrested two accused in this connection besides recovering the stolen property on the disclosure of the accused.
In a statement issued on Monday police said “ Police Station Budgam on 4th March this year had received a complaint from a truck driver namely Ramesh Kumar resident of Jhajjar Kotli Jammu who had alleged therein that some unknown thieves have stolen some edible oil Cans (Canisters) from his truck bearing registration number JK02AN-6593 near Railway Station Budgam”.
Stating that a case vide FIR No. 56/2022 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police station Budgam and investigation set into motion, police in it’s statement further said that during the course of investigation, officers learnt about the involvement of two suspects identified as Parvaiz Ahmad son of Ali Mohammad Reshi resident of Hamdania Colony Bemina A/P Narkara Budgam and Gowhar Ahmad son of Wali Mohammad resident of Arigam Khan Sahab Budgam.
“Both the accused persons were arrested and they confessed their involvement in the commission of crime”, reads the above referred police statement, adding that “ On disclosure of the above named accused the stolen property viz, 20 Cans of edible Oil were recovered from residence of one suspects Parvaiz Ahmad Reshi at Narkara Budgam”, stating therein further that investigation into the matter is in progress.
In the concluding para of it’s statement police said that consistent action against the anti-social elements confirms it’s pledge to act tough against individuals involved in any criminal activities.
3 drug peddlers arrested in Awantipora , Anantnag: Police
Awantipora, Anantnag : Police on Monday said that it has arrested three drug peddlers in a series of actions in police districts of Awantipora and Anantnag in South Kashmir and also recovered contraband substances from their possession.
In a statement issued on Monday police said that i0n Awantipora, a police party from Police Station Pampore headed by SHO PS Pampore at a checkpoint established at Kadlabal near Bridge intercepted a suspicious person identified as Nasir Ahmad Sheikh son of Gh Mohd Sheikh resident of Kadlabal Pulpar Pampore and upon checking recovered 3.5Kgs of Poppy Straw from his possession.
“Similarly in Anantnag, Police Station Bijbehara on receiving inputs that one person namely Rafiq Ahmad Ganie son of GH Qadir Ganie resident of Krandigam Bijbehara is indulging in drug peddling and hoarding a large quantity of narcotic substances in his residential house a Police party of PS Bijbehara alongwith Executive Magistrate concerned raided the said location”, adding that “during search, officers recovered 930grams of Charas from the said house”.
Stating that moreover in another action, a police party from Police post General Bus-stand at a checkpoint established near Delhi Darbar intercepted a truck bearing registration number PB23J-5865 driven by Gurjit Singh son of Piara Singh resident of Raja Kalan Dasuva Punjab and upon checking recovered 4Kgs of Poppy straw from the said vehicle. Police in it’s statement further said that all the drug peddlers have been arrested and shifted to respective police stations where they remain in custody”.
Police in it’s statement also said that a vehicle used in the commission of crime have also been seized and cases under relevant sections of law stands registered at respective police stations and investigation have been initiated.
In the concluding para of it’s statement police said that efforts are on to keep society free from the scourge of drug menace.
