Drug peddler held in Baramulla, Contraband substance recovered: Police

Baramulla : Police on Saturday said that it has arrested a drug peddler in Baramulla and also recovered contraband substance from his possession.
In a statement issued on Saturday police said that officers from Police Station Chandoosa under the supervision of SDPO Kreeri Dr. Khalid Ashraf, at a checkpoint established at Darwa Chandoosa arrested a drug peddler identified as Mudasir Ahmad Chopan son of Gh Mohd Chopan resident of Darwah Chandoosa and recovered 50 grams of Charas from his possession, stating therein further that the said accused has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Police in it’s statement further said that a case under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Chandoosa and investigation has been initiated.
In the concluding para of it’s statement police appealed people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood but warned that people found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt with as per law, stating therein further that consistent actions against drug peddlers are taken to keep society free from the scourge of drug menace.
