Baramulla : Police on Saturday said that it has arrested three persons and seized 3 tractors for illegal mining and extraction of minerals in Baramulla.
According to a police statement issued on Saturday the officers from Police Station Pattan alongwith In-charge PP Mirgund under the supervision of SDPO Pattan Mohammad Nawaz Khanday arrested three persons and seized 3 tractors involved in illegal mining and extraction of minerals at Flood Spill Channel Baliharan Pattan, Baramulla.
Stating that the accused have been shifted to police station where they remain in custody, Police in its statement further said that a case under relevant sections of law has been registered and further investigation has been initiated. Police in it’s above referred statement asked people not to indulge in illegal mining activities from any Nallah as it is the violation of Government rules. Police in it’s statement also warned that people found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law and asked people to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units.
