Doda: The arrangements for Ramadan, Ramnavmi, Navratra and Eid Ul Fitr were Friday reviewed here in a meeting chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner Doda Dr R K Bharti.
The meeting was attended by functionaries of service providing departments including Power Development Department, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Municipal Committee, Sheep Husbandry, Poultry, Legal Metrology and Police, besides President Beopar Mandal and Mutton and Chicken Seller Association.
The ADC asked the concerned to ensure availability of all requisite and essential commodities, especially mutton, Chicken, Vegetables and milk on approved rates during the Holy Month of Ramadan and other religious festivities.
He directed the officers of all departments to work in a synergized manner to avoid inconvenience to the people.
The PDD and PHE departments were asked to provide adequate power and potable water supply at the time of Iftar and Sehri especially, besides asked PDD to ensure that there shall be no unscheduled power cuts during the month of festivities on priority basis. He also directed the Ex En PHE Doda to ensure regular water supply to the slaughter house either through pipeline or through water tanker facility.
The ADC constituted checking squads for Doda town comprising officials of enforcement departments to ensure adequate supply of the essential items in the market on the approved rates of the government, besides to check adulteration of the food commodities.
He instructed EO MC Doda to ensure cleanliness in the Municipal area on a daily basis and with special focus on religious places. Besides, the traffic department was asked for effective regulation of traffic from the old bus stand to Nehru Chowk to avoid congestion.
The ADC directed the AD Civil supplies to ensure availability of sufficient ration and LPG stock in the district.
