YSS Cup-21Jammu Wins KhoKho Title

Winner team to get cash prize of Rs 50K, first Runner up Rs 30K and 2nd runner up Rs 20K: Gazanfar

Kathua: In a splendid win, the district KhoKho team of Jammu has won finals of J&K level inter district competitions by 2-0 beating District KhoKho Team of Budgam here at sports Stadia.
After the super exciting finale of J&K level Kho-Kho competitions, Director of the Department of Youth Services and Sports, in his congratulatory message, conveyed words of encouragement and apperception to DYSSO Jammu Sukhdev Dev Raj.
“I congratulate DYSSO Jammu and his team for a fantastic win in a nail-biting finale with the district team of Budgam” Gazanfar Ali’s message reads.
Pertinently J&K level competitions in other three games are also underway and finals are being played at three different venues in coming days.
Nearly 9076 Panchayat/ Block teams of all twenty districts of J&K have been registered for participating in four sports disciplines of Cricket/Kabadi/Kho-Kho and Volleyball being held during this historic and first of its kind sports extravaganza.
“To infuse a sense of competition and make these spots competitions more interesting and full of excitement, the YS&S Department has announced a cash prize of Rs 50 thousand for first position, Rs 30 thousand for second position and Rs 20 thousand for third position in all the four games being played under YSS Cup-21.”, said Director Sports Gazanfar Ali.
He hoped that such initiatives of engaging non-students in games and sports would yield many encouraging results in the days to come. He appreciated the efforts of field staff of the Department of YSS for organising matches of the tournament most proficiently even in the remotest areas of the JK districts.
