Jammu: The training and certification programme conducted for over 600 Pradhan Mantri Arogya Mitras (PMAMs) concluded here Thursday.
The orientation programme, organised under the joint initiative of Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) and State Health Agency (SHA), would enable the participants ensure effective implementation of Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojna (AB PM-JAY) and AB PM-JAY SEHAT across Jammu and Kashmir.
After completion of this 4 day training program, the participants appeared for an online examination and were given certificates.
Chief Executive Officer, SHA, Yasin M Choudhary, appreciated the role of Arogya Mitras in the healthcare sector saying that, “Arogya Mitras are the backbone of Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana. Without their active participation, this program would not have been running smoothly. Such training sessions are crucial for their capacity building and success of AB PM-JAY and AB PM-JAY- SEHAT in J&K”.
During the training program, the PMAMs were educated on several topics like preparing for health desk operations, checking eligibility and verification of beneficiaries for AB PM-JAY using BIS, formulating pre-authorizations on TMS, claim requests and submission of registrations, maintenance of interpersonal relationships with patients and colleagues, health and safety practices in healthcare setting, professional personal conduct and grooming.
The training program was launched on March 28 at NHM offices across Jammu and Kashmir. The PMAMs attached with different hospitals across J&K participated in groups of 50 Arogya Mitras each according to the schedule.
Pertinently, AB-PMJAY scheme is the world’s largest health insurance scheme fully financed by the government. This scheme provides a cover of Rs 500,000 per family per year for secondary and tertiary care hospitalisation. This ambitious health insurance scheme enables all residents of Jammu and Kashmir including employees and pensioners as well as their families to avail cashless quality health care services across public and private empanelled hospitals across India.
The scheme envisions mitigating expenditure on medical treatment to all the residents of Jammu & Kashmir. It covers up to 3 days of pre-hospitalization and 15 days post-hospitalisation expenses. There is no restriction on the family size, age or gender. All pre-existing conditions are covered from day one.
