GDC Marheen organises webinar to mark ‘Cyber Jagrukta Divas’

Kathua : Department of Computer Applications, Government Degree College, Marheen on Thursday organized a webinar on Online Cyber Crimes (Forgery & Fraud) under the series of “Cyber JagruktaDiwas”, to strengthen the cyber security for the prevention of cybercrime.
The programme was held under the patronage of the College Principal Prof.Dr.RomillaMalla Bhat.
Speaking on the occasion, the Principal applauded the Ministry of Home Affairs and Higher Education Department J&K for implementing the scheme called “Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C)” to deal with cybercrime in a coordinated and comprehensive manner. She laid emphasis on organizing such awareness programmes on regular intervals to educate the students to use safe and secure online platforms.
Prof.Anoop Sharma, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science and IT, GDC Kathua, the Resource Person, deliberated about Cybercrime and its kinds, Phishing, Identity theft, cybercrime information, cyber bullying, cyber stalking, cyber rights, etc. The session was very interactive as both faculty and students actively participated in the programme. Over 80 participants attended the webinar.
Prof Deepak Gupta presented vote of thanks and advised the participants to inform friends and family members about the emerging need of Cyber Security.
The event was organized by a Committee constituted for Cyber Jagrukta (Awareness) Divas comprising Prof Deepak Gupta (Convener), Prof Yash Paul Sharma, Pardeep Kumar (PTI), Prof Shikha and Prof SonikaJasrotia.
The webinar was also attended by College faculty members including Prof.Mukhtiar, Prof.Reemi, Prof. Uma, Prof.Preeti, Prof.Kajal, Prof.Sheetal and Prof.Nayreen.
