Srinagar : Police on Thursday said that it has detained a drug peddler under PIT NDPS Act in Kulgam.
In a statement issued on Thursday police said that an offender and notorious drug peddler namely Sheeraz Ahmad Lone @Sheer Khan son of Mohammad Ramzan Lone resident of Tungduno, Yaripora was arrested for involvement in narcotic crime.
Stating that the accused has been detained under PIT NDPS Act through orders issued by Div Com Kashmir, police in it’s above referred statement said that the said drug peddler has been lodged in District Jail Kathua, Jammu to prevent him from committing any such offence.
In the concluding para of its statement police appealed people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood but warned that people found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt with as per law, stating therein further that consistent actions against drug peddlers are taken to keep society free from the scourge of drug menace.
