Kishtwar: To make the process of land acquisition hassle free and transparent, a special camp for disbursement of land compensation acquired for up-gradation of NH-244 was Wednesday held here at PanchayatGharBhera-Bhatta. A team of revenue officers led by Deputy Commissioner Ashok Sharma supervised the exercise of the verification of documents of the owners at Matta, Pochhal and Hidyal villages for the widening of the package 3 of the National Highway-244.

To make the exercise transparent, all the details viz. name of the land owner, quantum of land acquired, amount of compensation assessed were publicly announced.
Besides, the acquisition documents of the land owner/beneficiaries were also verified by the concerned officers.
