DC Budgam chairs Block Diwas prog at Chrar-i-Sharief

DM also felicitates girl students at school function

Budgam: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, Shahbaz Ahmed Mirza Wednesday chaired a Block Diwas programme at DakBunglowChrar-i-Sharief.
During the programme, PRI members and other respected from villages Kandajan, Pakherpora, Chrar-i-Sharief town, Yousmarg and other areas raised their issues and demands with the DC for prompt redressal.
The demands included, adequate water and electricity supplies to all areas, macadamization of main and link roads, renovation of schools and other facilities, road development, robust drainage system, street lights, fencing and widening of dam, lights and beautification of Mono reservoir.
The DC stressed on speedy completion of developmental works in Chrar-i-Sharief and renovation of parks, development of parking facilities and better healthcare facilities are provided to the local people at all health institutions.
Locals expressed their gratitude to the DC for granting funds for the laproscopic facility at SDH Chrar-i-Sharief.
He also said that better health care facilities including USG, X-Ray and theatre facilities shall be created at CHC Wathora.
The DC Emphasized on proper sanitation and instructed the concerned Executive Officer and PRIs to ensure cleanliness and daily lifting of waste and its proper disposal from all urban and rural areas.
He said that there is swift development process going on across the Chrar-i-Sharief and directed concerned to accelerate execution of works taken under the JJM scheme, PDD and other department related works in all areas.
Among others, SDM Chrar-i- Sharief, CMO, Tehsildar, EO Municipal Committee, officers from various engineering wings and other concerned were present on the occasion.
Earlier, DC felicitated various girl students during International Women’s Day, impressive event held at Girls Higher Secondary School Chrar-i-Sharief.
The DC, who was Chief Guest on the occasion stressed on the rights of women and urged students to strive hard for their empowerment and fight against the social evils meted out to them.
He appealed students to utilize all opportunities to grow in the life and never let anything to discourage you. He said that girls would know their rights and all protection laws guaranteed to them by the government.
The DC impressed upon the students to be uprightmorally and continue their contribution towards the development of society.
He felicitated various girl students for their exemplary performance in the academics.
SDM Char-i-Sharief, Prince Noorul Hamid, addressing on the occasion, said that womenfolk has been given high values in the religion of Islam, for their immense contribution.
Principal GHSS while addressing the gathering on the occasion said that the day is being celebrated for raising our voice for empowerment.
Various girl students also spoke on the occasion and deliberated on women empowerment, dowry system, girl education and other topics.
Enthralling audience, variousrenowned artists and students also participated in cultural performances during the function.
