Rajouri : Centre for Hospitality and Tourism, Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University Rajouri organised an expert lecture on Heritage Tourism.
Prof. Akbar Masood, Vice Chancellor, BGSB University lauded the efforts of the Centre for organizing such events. Prof. Akbar said that from Kashmir to Kanyakumari and from Kutch to Kohima, India has rich cultural heritage which makes our country a most sought after destination for the tourists across the globe. Prof. Akbar stressed on the need for conservation and preservation of cultural heritage of India.
Dr. Madhuri Sawant, Director, Department of Tourism Administration, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Aurangabad delivered an interesting lecture on the topic ‘Art appreciation and Heritage Management of Ajanta caves’. She highlighted the need for the promotion of heritage and laid emphasis on sustainable tourism practices. She emphasized that it is imperative to take steps for preserving as well as disseminating knowledge about the rich natural and cultural heritage of India. She spoke at length on the heritage management of Ajanta caves. She said that Ajanta Caves presents an important and rare specimen of art, architecture, painting, and socio-cultural, religious and political history of India
Dr. Danish Iqbal Raina, Deputy Director of the Centre for Hospitality and Tourism introduced the speaker and presented the opening remarks. Mrs. Priyanka Khajuria , teaching faculty of CHT conducted the proceedings of the event. Students, Research Scholars and faculty members from BGSBU and other Universities of the Country attended the lecture.
