Live streaming of virtual Panchayat Conference hosted across Jammu divn

Jammu : District Administrations across Jammu Division Tuesday hosted live streaming of J&K level Virtual Panchayat Conference organized by Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj in collaboration with IMPARD J&K.
AT JAMMU: District Development Council Chairman Bharat Bhushan along with Deputy Commissioner Anshul Garg, DDC Vice Chairman Suraj Singh, DDC members and PRI members attended the Virtual Panchayat Conference here from DC Office Jammu.
All the members along with DDC Chairman and Deputy Commissioner also took the water pledge to save water, preserve water bodies and not to waste it administered by Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha.
They also pledged to be part of Jal Shakti Abhiyan: Catch the Rain Campaign and also motivate others to use water wisely. They reciprocate their commitment to make Jal Andolan-Jan Andolan.
Screening of the success story and documentary on Integrated Watershed Management Programme (IWMP) and documentary on JK IMPARD were main events during the conference.
The Rural Development Department also gave a brief presentation regarding the key initiatives under MGNREGA, flagship schemes of the Agriculture Department, self employment scheme for rural youths, UMEED, SBM-G and PMAY-G.
After the event, the DDC Chairman Bharat Bhushan applauded the efforts of LG Administration on organizing such a big event and said that such types of conferences should be made a regular feature to sensitize the people on such important issues like water conservation. He said that it was a good initiative of the government to make awareness among PRI members regarding central and state sponsored schemes initiated by the Administration to provide maximum benefits to the public.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said that the aim of the programme is to generate awareness among the general public about the importance of conservation, preservation and judicious use of water. “The demand of water is increasing every year but resources are shrinking” and urged upon the participants to use all innovative water conservation solutions and methods and sensitize the common man regarding judicious use of water.
AT SAMBA:

The PRI members of the Samba District witnessed the live webcast of the conference and the address by the Lieutenant Governor at their respective block headquarters.
The main program was organized at the conference hall DC office, where District Development Council Chairman Keshav Dutt Sharma, Deputy Commissioner Samba Anuradha Gupta besides DDC members and district officers were present.
The conference was attended by all Panchayat Raj Institution members on a single platform while few interacted with the LG.
AT KATHUA:

The maiden Virtual Panchayat Conference presided over by Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha received overwhelming response from PRIs of Kathua district as over 92% attended the live webcasting of the event.
The main event was held at DC Office complex where DDC Chairperson Mahan Singh, DC Kathua Rahul Yadav, ADDC Kathua Puneet Sharma, ACP Sohan Lal, VC DDC Raghunandan Singh, BDC Chairpersons, DDC and BDC members besides other PRI members attended the programme.
The day-long programme witnessed participation of 12 DDC and 16 BDC members besides 1690 panchs and 237 sarpanchs of different halqas and constituencies. Similar arrangements were made at Block levels where PRIs watched live programmes of the Lt. Gov.
The PRI members were briefed about the 100 point development programme of the government which aims at laying further focus on development and providing benefits of beneficiary oriented schemes to the people at the grassroots level.
On the occasion, representingSarpanch Amala Panchayat Madhu Sharma interacted with Lt. Governor and appreciated the decision of the government for introducing e-tendering as a result the number of works taken up in the current year were considerably increased. She said presence of Women representatives in Panchayats has imbibed new spirit among women folk as it will lead to women uplift and empowerment. She also highlighted the issue of shortage of RDD staff besides other issues of PRIs.
The PRI of Kathua also participated in the ‘Water Conservation Pledge’ administered by Lt. Governor aimed at sensitizing stakeholders to save every drop of water.
